Faye – DipHB(KGH)
KG Hypnobirthing Teacher – South Hampshire
My name is Faye, I am a primary school teacher, fully qualified KG Hypnobirthing Teacher, and a mum of one very scrumptious little boy!
Having always been fearful of labour and birth – I would cringe at the word vagina only a few years ago – when I fell pregnant post miscarriages, I was really keen to enjoy the experience as much as possible.
Thankfully, I have some wonderful women in my life that gave me a little nudge in the direction of hypnobirthing.
I, like many, was sceptical about how labour and birth could be “supposedly* calm and comfortable BUT I was keen to try anything to help prevent myself from totally freaking out mid labour with absolutely no way to back out of it!
To cut a potentially very long story short, I was amazed at the effect hypnobirthing had on me, and my partner was even more shocked – he actually probably wishes I was pregnant/in labour most of the time!
It had such a profound effect on the way I laboured, the way I thought about labour, and even made me love it!
So much so, that it couldn’t be ignored and I eventually plucked up the courage to travel to London (alone – not something I’d have seen myself doing ever – and I even used some of the breathing techniques on the train up there to calm my nerves!) to meet some wonderful fellow mumma’s but to be trained by two wonderful women working alongside Katherine Graves (the founder of KGH), Nancy and Kemi. It was the most empowered I have ever felt whilst talking about a baby coming out of a womans hoo-ha!
So here I am, ready and waiting to talk to all you wonderful parents to be about how to have a calm, comfortable and enjoyable birth experience.
